The sixth Bush Family Reunion, celebrating 175 years in Australia, was held at Greendale near Dalton NSW on Saturday 2nd October 2010.
The day starting with a little bit of a light shower or two but that didn’t stop just over 300 people from attending the big day. People came from as far as Cairns, Victoria, Peak Hill and Muswellbrook, just to name a few.
There was shearing demonstrations, both mechanical and blade, bus tours of the surrounding district, an antique clothing display and demonstration of antique machinery. The Church Hall provided a great venue for refreshments and a sausage sizzle.
Since the church grounds are adjacent to the well-kept cemetery, many family members were able to pay their respects to their forebears. Both the pioneer brothers’ graves are located there alongside their wives; Jeremiah with second wife Eleanor (his first wife Mary having died in 1856) and Arthur alongside his wife Maria. Many of their progeny are also represented in the grave yard.
Although there were early showers, the day proceeded uninterrupted and ended with everyone having enjoyed a great celebration.
Some moments from our 2010 Reunion…

Arthur Bush (1789 - 1876) and his wife Maria (1794 - 1884). Arthur was the eldest of the two Bush brothers. Arthur and his wife arrived in Australia in 1835 with their five children.

Jeremiah Bush (1797 - 1881) arrived in Australia as a convict in 1833. His wife, Mary and eight children, arrived two years later.
